Sales Associate
Mercedes-Benz Van Center – Grand Rapids
Objective:
The Sales Associate is responsible for van sales and up-fit sales, meeting established profit objectives. The Sales Associate is also responsible for identifying new sales opportunities by using all reasonable methods of prospecting. This position will require the ability to work with B2B clients as well as retail clients selling commercial to luxury vans. Balance between inside and outside sales activity is required. The Sales Associate assists customers in purchasing/ordering vans and up-fits to meet their needs as well as managing existing account relationships.
Essential Functions
- Greet and direct walk-in customers.
- Sells vehicles, lease contracts, up-fits, service agreements etc.
- Self-generate leads as well as handle walk in customers.
- Work with marketing team to expand web/social media presence.
- Maintain online presence and follow up on sales leads generated.
- Build relationships and creates long term customers.
- Actively listen and ask questions to assist customers in selecting the appropriate vehicle and body upfit
- Be the vehicle expert. Maintain current applicable training.
- Presents and negotiates purchase options.
- Follow-up with buyers to ensure referral business
- Understands and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect vehicle sales.
- Provides follow-up and on-going service to existing customers.
- Prepares complete and accurate sales orders and processes paperwork in accordance with Hoekstra’s policies.
- Maintains professional behavior and appearance
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Experienced with a sales process, (within a dealership a plus)
Compensation:
- Bi-Weekly Salary based on experience
- Monthly Commission
